When Anthony came of voting age, his very first vote was cast for President Ronald Reagan and years later he made the trip to attend President Reagan's funeral in Washington D.C. in 2004. Anthony Kern was first elected to the State House of Representatives in November of 2014 and has continued to carry an active, ongoing role within the Republican Party as a conservative precinct committeeman and state committeeman. He has worked on local, state, and national Republican campaigns for several years. 


Anthony is passionate about job creation, limiting the size of government at all levels, government transparency, protecting Second Amendment rights, and tax reduction. He is pro-family, firmly believes in and upholds the United States Constitution and works diligently to promote individual liberty and freedom. He enjoys meeting with people and looks for ways to serve and help them.

Anthony has a degree in Business Administration and graduated from Glendale Law Enforcement Training Academy. He has attended Grand Canyon University, Western International University and Northern Arizona University and became an entrepreneur who owned a private investigation business. He is active in crime prevention and is a past member of the Crime Free Multi-Housing and the National Institute of Crime Prevention. He is certified in crime free housing and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), and has been involved in the Block Watch program. Anthony started the City of Phoenix Employees for Christ organization in 1995. He also helped organize the Arizona Hoarding Task Force, an organization that assists persons with chronic hoarding behaviors. He is a member of the National Rifle Association and is a certified law enforcement peace officer.


Anthony was born is a small town in central Minnesota where he grew up with his mother, father and 13 brothers and sisters. Anthony felt a deep desire to serve in the military during Desert Storm but being a single dad and raising two sons at that time, he was unable to. The desire to serve his country was modeled for his oldest son Samuel who served honorably in the United States Army shortly after graduating from high school and now serves as a Correctional Officer for the State of Arizona. His youngest son Anthony Jr. is currently working in the culinary industry and attending Arizona State University. Anthony Kern is also the proud step parent of Jessica and Jason Sledz. Jessica served in the United States Army and Jason currently resides with his wife Whitney in Clovis, New Mexico. Anthony is married to Jenny (Sosa) and exchanged marriage vows at Fresh Start Church in Peoria, Arizona. Both Anthony and Jenny serve in leadership positions in their church. Together they have four outstanding children.
